At last, after 4 years...here comes my graduation day. Graduation day in Japan is totally different with that in Malaysia, because every student from all faculties graduated on the same day, in the same ceremony - all at once. First, in the morning we had this ceremony called ' Shuuryoushiki' ( or ' Sotsugyoushiki ' ), where all students - class of 2006 - gathered in one really big hall where we listened to speeches from the dean, and then from some important people and bla, bla..and lastly all students sang the school song.
In this ceremony, students ( usually the girls ) wear Kimono or Hakama ( Hakama is a special kind of kimono - to be worn only during graduation day ).
Then, in the evening, we went back to school, where every student received scroll from lecturers. And after that, in my case, I mean, in my department's case, we had dinner - called ' Shaonkai', hosted by students for the lecturers to express our gratitude to them, to say ' thank you ' for all the lessons and knowledge they gave us. ( We paid for them- the lecturers just came and eat and chat and bla2..)
I'm going to further my studies to master course in the same school, so I think I'm going to wear either Kimono or Hakama on the next graduation day. Well, another 2 years in Japan.. GANBARIMASU!!!

ICCF, Nov 2005
|
|
I had this part-time job as a staff during ICCF - the 12th International Conference on Condensed Matter Nuclear Science, in Yokohama. One of my seniors - Iizumi-san participated in this conference. I'm doing research on fuel cell, so I understand almost nothing although sometimes I listened to some of the presentations. My job as a staff was to make sure all things are in order, and sometimes, as a receptionist. We also had an excursion to Kamakura - a historical city quite near to Yokohama -famous for shrines and the great Buddha. And..oh yes! a banquet too..the food and cakes were REAL tasty!! I wish one day I can participate in a conference too..

Eid-ul-Fitr, Nov. 3, 2005
|
|
Seems like in the blink of an eye, it's my 4th year here in Japan, and the 4th time of me celebrating Eid-ul-Fitr away, far away from my beloved home country, hundreds and thousands of miles away from the warmth of my family. Though celebrating Eid in Japan were, is, and will- never, ever be in the same atmosphere with celebrating it in Malaysia, still, every time this glorious day comes I see people dressing up in their colorful "baju raya" , eating "kuih raya" and other delicious foods while chatting jovially with their friends, smiles everywhere, people taking pictures, kids running around carefreely, laughters can be heard everywhere....what a blissful day. Full of joy. I feel blessed.
To my family- my mum and dad, my brothers, uncles and aunts, my cousins; to my friends- friends that I often meet, friends that I rarely meet, friends that seems like it's been decades since the last time we met, friends that I absolutely have no idea when will I see them again in the future, to acquaintances and yes, to my foes ( I don't know if I have any; but still...)-------
I beg for your forgiveness, for every mistakes that I've done, for every word or behavior that might've hurt you, and though it's not so easy to forgive and forget, I'm just a human who make mistakes all the time, may all of you have a bright and happy Eid-ul-Fitr. " Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri, Maaf Zahir & Batin"
"Panjangkanlah umurku wahai Tuhan,
Agar ku bertemu Ramadhan hadapan"

Tokyo Disney Sea, August 29, 2005 (with Fumiko, Morizo n Ikkoro)
|
|
Well, this was my 2nd visit to Tokyo Disney Sea,so I wasn't very enthusiastic to ride on those 'too-childish' attractions..in fact, we ( yeah, WE..meaning my dear friend Fumiko, our two cute Aikido Club juniors--Mori-kun and Iwaki-kun,and I ) just took rides on some major attractions in the park, such as 'Journey to the Center of the Earth', 'Indiana Jones Adventure:Temple of the Crystal Skull', the newest attraction 'Raging Spirit', and 'Storm Rider'. 'Journey to the Center of the Earth' and ' Indiana Jones' were sooooo much fun that we took the rides twice!!!
Ikkoro was participating in an internship program at the time, so he took the 'after six' ticket- which means there were just the three of us during daytime. So, most of my models in these pics were Fumiko n Morizo..( and signboards too!! kind of the purpose of the visit--to take photos of cute signboards ).
The day before we went to Disney Sea was Morizo's 19th birthday, so we had a small party during dinnertime to celebrate Morizo, for his birthday and me, since I've passed the university's entrance exam for Masters course.
Well, all in all, we had sooooo much fun at Tokyo Disney Sea, the weather was marvellous, and I really hope we can go somewhere else and have fun again someday

Firework Festival, Summer 2005 (July 17, 2005, Sakuragi-cho)
|
|
I went to the Firework Festival at Sakuragi-cho with other 'Aikido-bu' members ( '-bu', comes from the word 'bukatsu', meaning extracurricular activities). Because it's already summer, girls tend to wear 'yukata' (resembling kimono, but made of cotton, with simpler patterns) during summer festivals, and they look sooooooooo cute!!
The event started on 7:30pm, but we have to go there early to get a good place, so that we can see the firework clearly..and our ichi-nen-sei kohai(1st year juniors), they're in charge to search for a strategic place for us, the seniors..(ha!ha!) And I heard that they're already there since 12 in the afternoon!! just for us!! wow!! THANK YOU, Mori-kun (Morizo) and Iwaki-kun(Ikkoro), you both have done a real good job!!
I didn't take many pics, since I was soo busy watching those fabulous fireworks, but a week after the event, my friend Alexey gave me a cd with fantastic firework pics, and I decided to put some of those pics here, in this page. ( Of course I asked him first!! )..Thank you very much!!
